With an intention to attract approximately 7 million visitors by the end of 2030, the head of Qatar Airways, announced to provide visa on arrival facility for the nationals of India, China & Russia. The new travel visa policy will be implemented within a couple of week’s time.
The number of travelers coming to Qatar has declined by 6% during the first half of the year, as compared to same period last year. With the implementation of new policy, the visa application process will become quicker and faster allowing travelers to enter Qatar without any hassle/delay.
Qatar has taken up the initiative to attract seven million visitors to the country by 2030.
Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar’s Airways, announced the new arrangements for visitors applying for the visa before arrival at Doha.
He said, the online application system will be introduced by second quarter 2017, which will allow the end users to track and receive the visa within 48 hours.
Al Baker said, “The state of Qatar is finalizing agreements to allow citizens of Russia, China and India to arrive at the airport to get visa on arrival,”
“The Ministry of Interior is putting the processes in place – it needs the IT infrastructure. They are aggressively working on it. It will come in weeks, not months.”38 countries currently avail the visa on arrival facility at Hamad International Airport (HIA). Soon India, China and Russia will join the list.
